Information Dissemination Workshop (March 18-21, 2009)
National Education Assessment
System (NEAS), Ministry of Education, is conducting 3rd
National Stakeholders Conference for dissemination of
National Assessment findings 2008. In this regard, a
four days preparatory workshop is being conducted at NEAS
which will be scheduled w.e.f. March 18-21, 2009 with the
following objectives:
i) To prepare Stakeholder
specific dissemination material for the conference
participants based on the NAT findings 2008; and
ii) To design, objectives,
working pattern and expected output of the group work
session of the conference.
Ms. Sumera Sagheer, The World
Bank consultant for Information Dissemination will also
attend the workshop and provide technical input as her
pre-planned meeting at Provinces/Area could not be held
because of security reasons. Provincial/Area coordinators
and Provincial/Area concerned Dissemination personnel with
NEAS team are the expected participants of this workshop.

A joint
World Bank - DfID Supervision Mission October 15-23, 2008.
A joint World Bank - DfID
supervision mission will be undertaken from October 15-23,
2008 to review progress of NEAS network for implementation
of activities and to make an assessment of the capacity
building activities planned for this year. Mission will also
review the Government's medium term plan for continuing with
assessment and NEAS beyond June 30, 2009. Mission will
particularly focus on discussing Government's strategy and
vision for NEAS including the institutional aspects as well
as the need for continued technical assistance.
Relevant Secretaries, Directors from the provinces and areas
and representative from EAD are also invited to make the
meetings meaningful. Mission team will include
Messrs/Mesdames Sofial Shakil (Task Team Leader/Senior
Education Specialist), Syed Ameer Hussain Naqvi (Senior
Education Consultant), Hasan Saqib (Sr. Financial Management
Specialist), Anwar Ali Bhatti (Bank Disbursement Analyst),
Huma Ali Waheed (Trust Funds Administrator), Hasan Masood
Mirza (Consultant) (World Bank) and Umbreen Arif (Education

National Assessment-2007 is
schedule from April 23-24, 2007 in all provinces/areas of
Pakistan and May 02-03, 2007 in Sindh
National Assessment-2007 is
schedule from April 23-24, 2007 in all provinces/areas of
Pakistan and May 02-03, 2007 (119 districts of Pakistan) on Random Stratified
Sampling technique (Decision made in NPCC meeting) for the
subjects of Language (Urdu) and Mathematics.
Background questionnaire for students, teachers and head
teachers are also included in this assessment schedule.
For preparation of National
Assessment, Lead Test Administrator's training will be held
from 6-14 April, 2007 in NEAS, Ministry of Education,
Islamabad. Lead Test Administrators will be
responsible to conduct trainings in their provinces/areas
from 16-21, April, 2007.
Monitoring of whole activity
will also be performed. National/Provincial monitoring
teams has been constituted for said purpose.
This activity will be performed
on Standardized Testing Format, designed by NEAS and its
team. Test starting time has been decided throughout
Pakistan is 9:30am.

Test
Administration Training in Provinces/ Areas will be held
from 16-21 April, 2007
LTAs trained
at NEAS will go to conduct provincial/Area Test
Administration. These test Administration trainings
will be held in different locations within a province/area.
During this
training Test Administrators will get all assessment
materials to conduct testing on 23-24 April, 2007.
This activity
will be monitor by NEAS, PEACEs, AEACEs so NEAS can ensure
quality assurance factor. MTR report's suggestions
specially incorporated this year to run this activity
smoothly and effectively.

Two days
Training on Test Administration of Lead Master Trainers will
be held in NEAS, Islamabad from 06-14 March, 2007 for all
provinces/areas.
Two days
training on Test Administration for Lead Master Trainers
held in NEAS, Islamabad from 06-14 April, 2007.
Provinces/Area's nominated LTAs will attend this training to
train other provincial/area Test Administrators.

Coding and Scoring National
Achievement Testing 2006 started in all provinces and areas
of Pakistan from May 08, 2006.
National Education Assessment
System (NEAS), Ministry of Education, Pakistan in
collaboration with all provincial/area assessment centers
and two partnering institutions successfully conducted
National Achievement Testing 2006 in the subjects of
Languages (Urdu, Sindhi, and Pushto), Mathematics, Science
and Social Studies for Grade-4 and National Pilot Testing
for Grade-8 in the subjects of Languages (Urdu and Sindhi)
and Mathematics.
For the next
phase, NEAS Ministry of Education has organized two days
training workshop in each subject to trained 2 experts from
each provincial/area assessment centers and two partnering
institutions for data coding and scoring. Data Coding and
Scoring which is started in all provincial/area assessment
centers including Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) from May
08, 2006. Ms. Lucy Jones, Consultant NEAS and Data Scoring
and Coding expert of NEAS are monitoring the said activity
in all provinces/areas to ensure the quality assurance and
provide remediate support to provincial/area assessment
centers. |
