National Achievement Assessment
and National Pilot Achievement Assessment-2006 held
throughout Pakistan from 17-20 April, 2006
Second Large Scale National
Assessment-2006 and Pilot Assessment is being conducted by
NEAS throughout Pakistan in 808 schools in the subjects of
Urdu, Mathematics, social Studies and General Science for
Grade 4 students from 17-20 April, 2006 respectively . The
test will be administered by 2000 trained Test
Administrators. In addition to Large Scale Assessment,
Pilot Assessment for Grade-8 in 113 schools will also be
conducted for the refinement of instruments and estimation
of logistics and expenditures for the next round of Large
Scale Assessment, in the subjects of Urdu and Mathematics on
19-20 April, 2006. Sample was drawn carefully to
represent whole population enrolled in Grade-4 and Grade-8.
The whole activity will be
monitored (10%) throughout country by the staff of NEAS,
PEACEs, Areas and other renowned educationists and teacher
educators. |
First National Stakeholder Conference-2006
for dissemination organized by NEAS held at Kohinoor Hall,
Marriott Hotel, Islamabad on March 21, 2006
First
National Stakeholder conference-2006 was held on March 21,
2006at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad. Lt. Gen. (Retd) Javed
Ashraf Qazi (Federal Minister for Education) inaugurated
this conference. Federal Education Secretary Mr. Sajid
Hassan, Provincial Education Ministers, Provincial Education
Secretaries, renowned educationists, teachers, teacher
educators, NGOs, heads of education departments, The World
Bank, British Council, DfID, other international educational
bodies, parents etc. were invited to attend this conference.
NEAS
disseminated results of first large scale testing of grade-4
(2005) to the stakeholders. The stakeholders shown
their interest in the results and said that these results
will really give some clear guidelines for policy makers.

Training of Lead Test
Administrators for National Achievement Assessment and
National Pilot Achievement Assessment-2006 held at NEAS from
22-27 March, 2006
Lead Test Administrators (LTA)
were trained at NEAS from 22-27 March, 2006 at NEAS,
Islamabad. The objectives of this training were to
prepare LTAs so that they can train Test Administrators
(TAs) through out Pakistan to conduct National Achievement
Assessment and National Pilot Achievement Assessment-2006.
At the closing of training, participants showed their
satisfaction and informed NEAS that they will be training
TAs throughout Pakistan effectively. |
Three days Information
Technology Training at PEACEs and AEACEs.
February, March and May-2006
NEAS have arranged a three days
IT Training for its attached offices (PEACEs and AEACEs) in
all provinces and areas offices. IT Specialist NEAS,
Mr. Shafiq Ur Rahman visited some local offices to train
PEACEs and AEACEs for their training as resource person.
In this training round local
offices trained for use of Information Technology in
their routine work and to cover communication gaps between
NEAS, PEACEs, AEACEs and ATCs.
